Baseball Round up

They are still talking about the tremendous homerun that flew out of the Quisqueya Stadium last night. Juan Francisco is one of the very, very few to have ever hit a homerun over the center field wall, some 411 feet from home plate. Francisco’s seventh homerun of the season led the visiting Gigantes del Cibao to a 7-2 victory over the Tigres del Licey. In La Romana, Emaus and Gomez led the Toros del Este over the Leones del Escogido by a score of 9-5. Emaus hit a homerun and Gomez went 4-5 to lead the 15-hit attack by the raging bulls of La Romana. The newly arrived first baseman Keven Baker and Designated Hitter Angel Castro let the cellar-dwelling Aguilas past the league-leading Estrellas Orientales.
