Progress at CDEEE

Celso Marranzini, executive vice president of the Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE), said that in 2010, 459,733 new clients became paying customers of the three power distributor companies n EdeSur, EdeNorte and EdeEste. The distributors now have 1,872,949 paying clients. He said that in November 2010, compared to November 2009 the electric sector billed US$1,231.9 million, up from US$1,105.6 million. Collections were US$1,231.9 million, up from US$995.4 million. Furthermore, he said operation costs of the distribution companies are down 7% in 2010, as reported in Diario Libre.

The goal for 2011 is that the Edes collect US$1.86 billion, which would be 21.7% more than in 2010, when collections are expected to reach US$1.53 billion.
