Dominican exports of goods made at duty free zones to Haiti increased to US$462 million. Haiti thus becomes the DR’s leading export market, followed by the US with US$340.1 million and Puerto Rico with US$98.4 million. Exports in 2009, prior to the earthquake, had been US$227.6 million. The DR is a major transshipment point for exports to Haiti. The Department of Customs (DGA) reported that exports to Puerto Rico had declined in 2010 from US$117.7 million, a 16.4% drop.
