The Dominican Professional Baseball League has announced that the Caribbean Baseball Series will take place in Santo Domingo from 2-7 February 2012. The games will be played at the Quisqueya Ball Park. This is the 53rd year of the tournament that brings together the best of Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Caribbean Baseball Confederation president Juan Francisco Puello Herrera said that a meeting would be held in July to decide whether the 2012 tournament could be played in the current round-robin format or in two rounds. The games will be transmitted to the US markets by Imagina Television, a Spanish television station.
