Ede-Norte says AES Andres caused blackouts

Electricity distribution company Ede-Norte reported yesterday that the power cuts that affected many of its customers were caused by the AES Andres generation plant going offline. In a press release issued on Wednesday, Ede-Norte says that AES Andres has had problems stabilizing the current it produced because of the presence of a massive amount of algae in the filters of the water used to cool the plant. This caused Ede-Norte to readjust its service schedules to some sectors. El Caribe said that the company apologized for the inconveniences caused by the interruptions in service.
