The Ministry of Environment recently announced the completed remodeling of the visitors center at Valle Nuevo, the highest point accessible to vehicles visiting the Central Mountain Range national parks, including the country’s highest peak, Pico Duarte.
The facilities now operating at the Piramides de Valle Nuevo (Constanza) in the Valle Nuevo National Park enable visitors to source fresh water from the mountains and use the bathroom facilities. The information center also has a small museum where visitors can learn about the fauna and flora of this area, also known as the Caribbean Alps. A printed guide to the area is available for visitors.
