The latest poll by the Asisa Research Group reveals that if the election were held today, the PLD presidential candidate Danilo Medina would obtain 46% of the votes against 42.7% for the PRD presidential candidate Hipolito Mejia. The nationwide poll was carried out on 6, 7, 8, 9 October.
PLD campaign director, Minister of Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia announced the results during a press conference. He said that nationwide the PLD has 52.8% followers and the PRD 40.4%.
