The Santo Domingo Hotel Association has chosen the general manager of the Hotel Renaissance Jaragua, Eduardo Reple to lead the organization in 2012-2014. The new board members are Eduardo Reple, president; Roberto Henriquez, vice president; Kurt Tschamper, treasurer; Aura Nunez de Dominguez, secretary; Hector Concari, Odalis Guzman and Olmedo Herrera, directors and Lina Matos, executive director. The organization works closely with the Ministry of Tourism and other entities to position Santo Domingo as a destination in international markets. The new board will focus on the need to implement projects for the recovery and improvement of city attractions so they can be better appreciated by visitors, who are described as “our lead global ambassadors.” Likewise, the board said they would take actions to improve security, cleanliness and order in the destination.
The new board called for all institutions to work together, mentioning the Ministry of Tourism, National Association of Hotels & Tourism, Ministry of Culture, City of Santo Domingo Municipality, Politur, among others.
The board said it would continue to work on institutional strengthening and attracting new members.
