Cruise ship travelers on board the new Carnival Breeze, which launches in June 2012, will be able to enjoy the new Thrill 5D Theater that presents high-definition, 5D film with tangible enhancements similar to theme park attractions that interact with the viewer – effects like squirting water, bubbles, and chairs that tickle legs, blow air on guests’ necks and poke them in their seat. In addition, the seats themselves will move and vibrate to simulate motion, adding what Carnival describes as a fifth dimension. “It’s kind of like combining a ride like Universal’s Terminator 3D with Spider-Man with a dose of Disney’s Stitch ride”, says a Carnival release. The movies will be five-minute versions of popular family films.
Carnival Cruise Lines’ Fun Ship 2.0 program is a US$500 million amenity initiative that features this and other new entertainment options, including celebrity partnerships such as comedian George Lopez, DJ Irie and Food Network star Guy Fieri’s Guy’s Burger Joint, featuring his signature burgers.
The ship departs from Miami, Florida on eight-day southern Caribbean tours. It will touch at Grand Turk, La Romana, Curacao and Aruba. Departure dates are 24 November 2012, 22 December 2012, 16 February 2013 and 30 March 2013, 27 April 2013.
The ship has capacity for 3,690 guests (double occupancy).
