If the election were held today, the ruling PLD party’s presidential candidate Danilo Medina would receive 48.7% to 45.2%, below the 50%+1 vote needed to win in a first round, according to the Gallup Poll published in Hoy today. The poll showed that Medina has advanced 5.2%, and Mejia has dropped 2.7% compared to the 21 November Gallup poll.
