The Dominican Republic is the 19th MITT 2012 partner country. The Ministry of Tourism is sending its largest ever delegation to the leading Russian international trade show, with the stand increasing to 150 square meters up from the first stand of 40 meters in 2005. Coordination on the Russian side is by Dominican Ministry of Tourism representative Galina Lysenko. For the sponsorship, one of the days of the event is dedicated to the Dominican Republic. A special program has been planned to introduce participants and visitors to the country’s traditions, culture and gastronomy, including a cigar-rolling exhibition. The country will be presenting new trends in tourism, and there will be a welcome cocktail and presentation. The Ministry of Tourism will be announcing the opening of a Dominican Ministry of Tourism Office in Moscow.
MITT is Russia’s leading and largest travel exhibition. Over 3,000 companies and 185 destinations are participating this year. The event enables participants to increase the awareness of their destination and to gain a real feel for the Russian travel market.
The fair welcomes both trade and consumer visits. The fair is becoming more popular with the trade as the demand for travel services in Russia grows and the spending power of Russian travelers becomes better known. In the Dominican Republic, Russian tourists are regarded as the best spenders.
