Puerto Plata gets a flight from Russia

Transaero has announced that it will operate its first Moscow-Puerto Plata route as of October 2012. The flights will offer Russian tourists an alternative to the already very successful six-weekly flights from Moscow to Punta Cana. Deputy Tourism Minister Magaly Toribio, who attended the MITT International Travel Fair in Moscow last week, said that the flight opens up the destinations of Puerto Plata, Sosua and Cabarete to the Russian market. She said that if the destination catches on with Russian tourists, another frequency could be added to the north coast route.
