The Benenson Strategy Group 27-30 March poll has ruling PLD party candidate Danilo Medina leading PRD party Hipolito Mejia 48%-40%. The poll says that 12% of Dominicans eligible to vote in the 20 May 2012 are still undecided about how to vote, when considering those two. The margin of error is 2.83%. 1,200 eligible voters were polled.
According to the poll 51% of voters think that the Medina and vice presidential candidate Margarita Cedeno will win the election, compared to 38% who believe Mejia and his running mate Luis Abinader will win. The poll found that 8 of 10 potential voters think the poll will be decided in the first round. To win in a first round 50%+1 of the vote is needed.
