Transport Reorganization Office (Opret) deputy director Leonel Carrasco reported on Monday, 9 April that the Metro 2 would be providing free transport for passengers attending the XV International Book Fair at the Plaza de la Cultura that opens 18 April. People can get on Metro 2 at the Kilometer 9 station on the Duarte Highway, at Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, and Lope de Vega. Carrasco also said that a special group of military personnel would be in charge of security and order at these stations. Finally, the Opret official said that the Specialized Transport Fund has opened a tender for 100 small buses to provide feeder services for the Metro.
