The Ministry of Labor is reminding the public that Labor Day will be celebrated on Monday, 30 April and not on Tuesday, 1 May. Since the First of May falls on a Tuesday, and the legislation, Law 139-97, requires that it must be a working day, Labor Day will be celebrated the day before, Monday, April 30.
Other upcoming holidays are Corpus Cristi on Thursday, 7 June, which does not change. This is also the case for 16 August, Restoration Day, and it, too, will be celebrated on a Thursday. Religious holidays like Our Lady of Mercy on 24 September are not changed, but state holidays like Constitution Day, 6 November, will be celebrated on Monday, 5 November this year.
