The Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo in particular, is rated as the leading travel destination for couples on a budget celebrating their wedding anniversary, according to Cheapflights. The list was carried by leading aggregator websites around the world to mark Britain’s Prince William and Catherine’s first wedding anniversary.
The Cheapflights website says the DR is tops for “frugal couples”. It explains: “Starting a new life together can be expensive, and the first few anniversaries can sometimes get pushed aside.
