Viva celebrates 25 years in business

Viva Wyndham Resorts, the Dominican Republic’s first international hotel chain, is celebrating 25 years of success in one of the Caribbean’s leading tourism destinations. The chain began in 1987 with the opening of the all-inclusive Club Dominicus in Bayahibe, today known as Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach. The Dominican-based chain expanded and went on to open five more hotels in the Caribbean and Mexico. Top executives were Italian Ettore Colussi and Dominican Rafael Blanco Canto.

In Dominican Republic it operates the hotels Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace in La Romana-Bayahibe, and Viva Wyndham Tangerine in Cabarete-Puerto Plata.

In Mexico’s Mayan Riviera, Viva has the Viva Wyndham Maya and Viva Wyndham Aztec, and in the Bahamas, the chain has the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach.
