Embassy Suites to operate new Naco hotel in Santo Domingo

The promoters of the Silversun Commercial Gallery, located on Tiradentes and Gustavo Mejia Ricart avenues in Santo Domingo’s Naco neighborhood, have announced that Hilton Worldwide hotel chain would operate the hotel as an Embassy Suites by Hilton. The hotel will be located in the Naco section of the Poligono Central area, the city’s leading business district. Jim Holthouser, global head of Embassy Suites, said the hotel is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2013.

The hotel will add 200 two-room suites to the capital city hotel inventory.

In addition, Embassy Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo will have more than 16,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, including two ballrooms, breakout rooms and a meeting room, as well as 4,300 square feet of outdoor events space.

This will be the second Embassy Suites in the Dominican Republic. The chain already operates the 125-room Embassy Suites by Hilton Los Marlins Hotel & Golf Resort at the Metro Country Club, in Juan Dolio beach community, some 45 minutes east of Santo Domingo. Hilton also operates the 228-room Hilton Santo Domingo next door to the Malecon Center.

Danny Hughes, senior vice president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America said, “We are excited to announce the development of our third Hilton Worldwide hotel in the Dominican Republic, and proud to do so with Desarrollos RDC, S.A. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo will perfectly complement our existing Hilton Santo Domingo, and we look forward to welcoming both business and leisure travelers to another Hilton Worldwide hotel they can call home.”
