Alberto Abreu of Puntacana to CHTA board

The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) general assembly re-elected Dominican Alberto Abreu, director of hospitality at the Puntacana Resort & Club to be one of the vice presidents of the 2002-14 board. The new slate of officers was elected on 14 June during the general meeting at the Half Moon Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The board is presided by Richard J. Doumeng. In addition to Abreu, the other vice presidents are Emil Lee, president of the St. Maarten Hotel & Trade Association and general manager of Princess Heights Hotel; Karolin Troubetzkoy, St. Lucia, president of the St. Lucia Hotel & Tourism Association and owner and executive director at the Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain Resort; Evelyn Smith, president of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourism Association and general manager Tensing Pen, Jamaica and William Jonckheer, CEO of Jonckheer Advertising and Marketing in Curacao. The CHTA treasurer will be James Hepple, president of the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association.

The CHTA is the leading regional tourism organization and represents all facets of the hospitality industry with more than 725 member hotels and 375 allied members.
