Boca Chica is the world children’s sailing capital this week with the celebration of the 50th IODA World Championship at the Club Nautico de Santo Domingo, the country’s leading yacht club. Justina Pacheco, Maria Paz, Juan Martin Pacheco, Natalie Norbruch, Celeste Lugtmeijer are competing for the Dominican Republic in the event.
Organizers report that 230 sailors from 52 countries are taking part, representing the five continents. IODA is the international body that groups national associations in charge of the regulation and development of Optimist sailing in each country.
