A press release from the office of President-elect Danilo Medina has announced that five Latin American Presidents, the Prince of Asturia Felipe de Borbon; and the Governor of Puerto Rico Luis Fortuno, will be coming for the inaugural on 16 August.
President Porfirio Lobo from Honduras; Michel Martely from Haiti; Mauricio Funes, El Salvador; Juan Manuel Santos, Colombia; and Ricardo Martinelly from Panama have confirmed they will be here.
The President-elect’s office says that also confirmed is the attendance of Vice President of the Republic of China in Taiwan Wu Den-Yih; the secretary general of the Organization of American States, (OAS) Jose Miguel Insulza; Lilian Reneau-Vernon and Laura Ramirez, from the Pan-American Health Organization; Jaime Vallaure, representing the United Nations World Food Program; and Irene Horejs, representing Joao Durao Barroso, president of the European Commission.
The inaugural will take place starting at 10am in the congressional palace at Centro de los Heroes.
