Destination Management course in Santo Domingo

Learn the new trends in tourism management and how they apply to tourism in the Dominican Republic during the upcoming Destination Management course. The initiative is sponsored by the Dominican Competitiveness Consortium (CDCT), under the USAID Sustainable Tourism Empowerment Program (STEP). The 80-hour course begins Friday, 24 August and ends Saturday, 8 December.

Clara Barriola, training coordinator at CDCT, says participants will receive training on planning, marketing, product development and management inter-relationships.

The course is primarily targeted at the members of Dominican tourism clusters, managers, project leaders, and professionals interested in project management, government authorities working in tourism, and tourism professionals.

Doctors in Tourism from the Universidad de Nebrija and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Spain will teach the course: Manuel Figuerola Palomo, Ana Munoz, Laura Fuentes, Bruno Pujols and Monica Figuerola, director of Tourism of the region of Rioja in Spain.

The course will take place at UNAPEC University with classes on Friday from 1 to 8pm, and Saturdays from 8:30am to 5pm.
