Lights out in Santiago on Friday

According to Edenorte, the electricity distribution company serving the north of the country, large areas of Santiago have their electricity cut off tomorrow, Friday 5 October for maintenance work, which will start at 9am and is due to finish at 4pm.

The areas affected will be los Embrujos II and III, Villa Maria, Los Alamos, Aceros, El Portal, Fernando Valero fort and part of Sabaneta de las Palomas and Las Dianas.

Las Palomas, Los Caballos, Los Diplan, the center of Licey, and the businesses of Penantial, Pollo Licey, Procesadora Minaya, Iberofarmaco, Procesadora de Alimentos, and Super Alba will also be affected.

In addition there will be no power in Hispanoamericana Avenue, the Centro Espanol, Matanzas Street, Cruz de Marilopez, Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana distribution center, Barrio Lindo and Obrero, Zamarrilla, Hato Mayor and Thomen and Fernandez housing areas.

Also off will be the International Cibao airport, Cascada Park, Hodelpa Marriot hotel, La Colonia, Inversiones Infante, Acero Yaque, Soluciones Electricas, Plaza Nunez, Tricom and Claro antennas, Pets Agroindustrial, Graficos and Almadela industries.

Finally, Codea, Andamios Dominicanos, Zeus, Helios,Venus and Ethics motels, Cocigas, Isidro Bordas, Procesadora de Agua, Plaza Out 27, Pollo Pechu, Fabrica de Colchones, Metro Gas, Aceros Estrella and Construcciones, paradas La Mina and La Volanta, Hormigones Antillas, Nono and La Confianza areas.

Edenorte has apologized in advance for the blackouts.
