Hackers dislike tax reform

The Internet hacking group Dominican Anonymous has attacked the Tax Office (DGII) website in protest at the proposed tax reform, as reported in El Nuevo Diario. They are also reported to have hacked the sites of the Santo Domingo Water and Sewage Company (CAASD) and the Social Subsidy Administration (ADESS) along with a site belonging to a private entity. The hacked sites bore the message, “No To the Tax Reform”. The cyber activists targeted the pages in response to the government’s tax reform proposal, which includes taxing many basic products, as reported in El Nuevo Diario. The DGII website was up and working on Tuesday.
