Sheraton first, then Westin to follow in Punta Cana

In response to the increasing market share of more US tourists traveling to the Dominican Republic, Starwood Hotels announces the opening of its first hotel in the Dominican Republic this October, the Four Points by Sheraton Punta Cana Village. The business hotel is less than five minutes from the Punta Cana International Airport. Brian McGuinness, senior vice president of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood, announced that the Sheraton opening would be followed by the opening of The Westin Puntacana Resort in late 2013.

The newly constructed hotel features 124 stylish and comfortable guest rooms, an outdoor pool and access to five miles of private beach. Four Points by Sheraton Puntacana Village also provides 1,614 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting facilities, a 24/7 business center equipped with cutting-edge audiovisual technology and wireless Internet access, a fully equipped fitness facility and full-service dining. Guests can stroll to the shops, restaurants and salons of Galerias Puntacana within the Village, and hop on the hotel’s complimentary shuttle to visit Six Senses Spa, the Puntacana Ecological Reserve and the golf courses located at Puntacana Resort & Club.

“Grupo Puntacana is proud to partner with Starwood Hotels to open the first Four Points in the Dominican Republic, soon to be followed by the island’s first Westin resort,” said Alberto Abreu, Executive Director of Hospitality for Grupo Puntacana.
