Eduardo Hidalgo to represent public school teachers

Members of the Dominican Teachers Association (ADP) have voted Eduardo Hidalgo to lead their organization from 2012-2015. He defeated runners-up Maria Teresa Cabrera with 27,573 votes (46.22%) to 21,246 (35%) and Kenia Xiomara Guante with 6,849 votes (11.48%). The final bulletin was released during a press conference at the public school teachers’ headquarters yesterday, Thursday 11 October at 9:30pm. “We are going to work so that in these three years teachers progress and leave poverty behind,” said Hidalgo who works at the Centro Educativo Felix Evaristo Mejia. A native of San Francisco de Macoris, Hidalgo has been working as a teacher for more than 31 years.
