DNCD crackdown off Punta Caucedo

The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) announced the seizure of weapons, ammunitions, anti-bullet vests, handcuffs, military uniforms in an apartment in an upscale building (Torre Visa I at Calle Manuel de Jesus Goico 16) in Naco neighborhood in Santo Domingo. Among the weapons, a Bushmaster rifle caliber 5.56. In the apartment bank certificates of deposit, property titles, vehicle registrations were also found. The finding is tied to the arrest offshore of an alleged member of the Air Force and three other persons, two of which were “fishing” in a boat parked to the south of Punta Caucedo, as reported in Hoy. The suspected member of the Air Force (FAD) arrested is Nestor Luis Tormos Abraham. Others are Fernando Antonio Milanes Padron and Ivan Daniel Valera who were on board “Enough” some 18 miles south of Punta Caucedo. The DNCD also arrested Adalgisa Sandoval Urena, executive of the Rent a Car Naime located at Km. 6 of the Las Americas Expressway.

El Caribe reports that Fernando Antonio Milanes Padron, arrested at sea, on 7 October 2009 had been arrested together with other persons during the seizure of 60 kilos of cocaine in Alma Rosa, Santo Domingo East, and had been released after posting bail to subsequently become a fugitive of justice.
