The Cibao Central National Police Authority, under the direction of General Hector Garcia Cuevas has opened two new police stations in Cienfuegos and La Otra Banda to control crime in the area and provide increased protection to local residents, as well as students from the Santiago Regional University (CURSA-UASD).
