President Danilo Medina is preparing for his second trip abroad since taking office on 16 August 2012. He will travel to Spain on 13 November to attend the 22nd Ibero-American Summit of heads of government from Latin America, Spain and Portugal. The event, which will take place on 16-17 November in the southern city of Cadiz, will focus on policies to stimulate economic growth to combat poverty and promote equal opportunities and job creation.
The Presidency reports that Medina will travel on a commercial flight accompanied by Foreign Relations Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso and Economy Minister Temistocles Montas and Administrative Minister Jose Ramon Peralta. His predecessor, President Leonel Fernandez preferred to travel by private jet.
Medina first trip was to New York City for the UN General Assembly meeting in September.
