IMF is coming, IMF is coming!

An International Monetary Fund mission will arrive in the DR on 5 November to complete the review of Article IV of its Articles of Agreement aimed at analyzing the situation and economic policies, announced Central Bank governor Hector Valdez Albizu yesterday, Tuesday 23 October. Valdez said that the visit would be an opportunity for starting formal talks towards the signing of a new stand-by arrangement. He said they still have to carry out the post-program monitoring as part of the final process of the previous agreement.

Valdez Albizu made the announcement during an event commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Central Bank. In his speech he said that Central Bank would soon be presenting the results of the change of the base year for National Accounts of the Dominican Republic.
