The Pueblo de los Pescadores in Las Terrenas is preparing for a 1 December reopening in time for the start of the winter tourism high season and Christmas holidays. The row of beachfront restaurants and bars burned down on 7 May 2012 after a fire that began in one of the restaurants spread to the others. The restaurants reopening at the popular Las Terrenas eating spot include: One Love Surf Shack (American), La Salsa (International), Replay (Disco Bar), La Terrasse (French) and Pizza Playa.
