The Deputy Minister of Tourism for the eastern region, Rafael Baron Duluc, says that the Ministry will continue to check businesses operating in Bavaro-Punta Cana, by inspecting equipment and ensuring they are not illegal.
They have already closed the Delfines del Mar Azul, Funny Acuatica and the Hotel Barcelo Dominican Beach water sports operations as none of them had the proper permits. In the case of the latter it was for offering parasailing without permission.
They closed Royal Holiday, based in Bavaro, for illegal sales of vacation clubs (time sharing) following several complaints from tourists who said that when visiting them, they would get them drunk and sell them the vacation club.
In Plaza Vacaria they closed the water sports shop known as the Tobogan and confiscated dozens of starfish, pieces and coral and conch shells on the grounds that their sale is illegal.
