A young criminal, Jose Perez Caceres, known as “the Locksmith”, was caught red-handed as he left the Profamilia Clinic in the La Joya area of Santiago very early yesterday morning, Tuesday 6 November. He had RD$383,000 in cash, the 350GB hard drive from the security cameras and other articles that he had taken from the offices of the clinic. The locksmith, who lives in Salcedo’s Invi neighborhood, admitted his crime. He used a crowbar to break into the offices and then a set of keys to open the safe. Near the safe, the investigators found key blanks, hacksaw blades and a hacksaw frame.
