The stretch of road at kilometer 27 on the Sanchez highway, known as El Numero de Azua has been partially cleared by brigades from the Ministry of Public Works, which removed boulders and other debris that were blocking the road after a landslide.
In addition, a vehicle carrying three Haitians who were on their way to a wake was trapped in the landslide, but the occupants were only slightly injured.
Dozens of people and vehicles were forced to wait for more than 10 hours before the road could be cleared.
