Peso breaks 40-1 barrier

The Dominican economy responded with a RD$40.05 to US$1 depreciation of the peso following the passing of the fiscal reform in Congress yesterday, Thursday 8 November. This is the first time in years that the peso has broken the RD$40 barrier. The euro also appreciated, with some banks paying RD$49.95 to RD$50.80 and selling for RD$51.20 and RD$52.30.
