President Danilo Medina sent the bill aimed at maintaining the tax exemption on Internet purchases under US$200 to Congress yesterday, Monday 12 November. The measure had been included in Fiscal Reform Law 253-12 that was enacted last week. The taxation was said to be in violation of the DR-CAFTA free trade agreement with the United States.
