The frugal travel editor for the New York Times has reported back on his budget travel to Viva Wyndham Dominicus. For him it was too good, but was true. He was attracted to the all-inclusive beach resort by an enticing promotional package but describes how to his surprise he got more than he expected.
“The beach was palm-saturated and fine-sanded; the water, pastel-colored and just cool enough to refresh. The food was tolerable and certainly plentiful. Alcohol – this was where I was sure they would get me – was free. My room, with a king-size bed and perfectly acceptable bathroom, was maybe about Holiday Inn-level, which is better than I’m used to,” writes Kugel who benefitted from a four days and three nights deal for $561.86.
