Fiscal Amnesty sent to Congress

The Presidency sent the Fiscal Amnesty bill to the Senate yesterday, Wednesday 14 November. The proposed amnesty will benefit contributors with overdue debts for payment of income tax (ISR), ITBIS, property transfer taxes and inheritance taxes, along with other categories. It will revoke penalties and interest charges on these arrears. Everyone in arrears will need to make the principal payment within 20 days after the authorization issued by the DGII. A request needs to be made to the DGII, within the 60 days of the Fiscal Amnesty procedures entry into effect. The DGII is allowing for partial payments to be made in a payment plan with a 40% down payment.
