It’s enough, says Adriano Miguel Tejada

In its editorial today, Friday 16 November, Diario Libre calls for an end to the tradition of corruption and power worship in the Dominican Republic. He specifically calls for attention to the Police and the transport monopolies in the Dominican Republic. “The government must start to do something serious in benefit of the country and confront corruption,” writes executive editor Adriano Miguel Tejada. “We Dominicans have had the longest transition from dictatorship to democracy. That explains the obstacles we have found along the way. Spain after Franco was a functional democracy within two decades. We, 50 years after Trujillo, still have the same corruption, the same police and the same power worship. It’s enough!”
