Judges have five days to convene hearing

The Supreme Court of Justice has appointed two magistrates to convene an audience to review the case of Felix Bautista that had been shelved indefinitely. The disposition is contained in Article 283 of the Penal Process Code that addresses objections to decisions taken by the courts. On Monday, 19 November the Chief Justice, Mariano German Mejia designated justices Esther Elisa Agelan Casasnovas and Victor Jose Castellanos Estrella to hear the objections filed by the Dominican Alliance Against Corruption (Adocco) and the Citizen Movement against Corruption (C3) against the writ issued by the National Directorate for the Persecution of Administrative Corruption, which filed away four complaints against Felix Bautista. The Attorney General, Francisco Dominguez Brito, had requested that the SCJ reopen the case.
