Bank robber was a preacher for 12 years

The fugitive who is accused with making away with RD$1.8 million stolen from the Asociacion Cibao Savings and Loan bank in Santiago is now known to have been a pastor at an Evangelical Church for more than 12 years. Juan Antonio Guzman Moreta, who is accused of the bank robbery, was revealed to be a member of the Association of Preachers of Evangelical Churches of Cienfuegos in Santiago. He is the brother-in-law of Manuel Alejandro Paulino, who did not manage to get away on the day of the bank robbery. El Caribe reports that he also worked as a free zone worker, and his neighbors told reporters that he still preached for the church. The neighbors said they could not recall him being involved in any criminal activity in the past and expressed surprise at his suspected involvement in the robbery.
