Earlier this week the Minister of Agriculture, Luis Ramon Rodriguez, took part in the luncheon event sponsored by Multimedios del Caribe and provided solid evidence of his work during the first three months of the Medina administration. The minister outlined his three key goals: to achieve food security for the people, promote more exports, reduce rural poverty and improve the physical infrastructure. According to the minister, work has begun with the distribution of hundreds of thousands of pounds of seeds for beans, vegetables and corn, combined with the creation of over 700 school and family-run gardens. The minister also mentioned that the ministry has overseen the repair and construction of over 1,200 kilometers of rural roads and repairs to many bridges in areas damaged by recent storms like Isaac and Sandy.
