12 kilos seized from pineapple juice shipment

DNCD drug control agents at the Caucedo Multimodal Port have announced the confiscation of 12 kilos of cocaine found in a package placed in barrels laden with pineapple juice that were being shipped to Puerto Rico. The military security at the port noticed that the ship Maersk Walvis Bay had started the trip in Manzanillo, Monte Cristi, with a stop in Panama for loading merchandise and was transiting at the Multimodal Caucedo Port prior to traveling to Puerto Rico, reported the DNCD. The ship had arrived at the port on 24 November and employees at the terminal observed that the screws of the container had been altered, leading to the investigation.
