In La Romana’s Francisco Micheli Stadium yesterday evening, Tuesday 4 December, Miguel Tejada hit two homeruns to help boost the Aguilas Cibaenas to a 7-4 victory over the slumping Toros del Este. The Tejada offense combined with the good pitching of Miguel Batista took the Aguilas to their third straight win. In the ancient Quiqueya Ballpark in Santo Domingo, a ninth inning homerun by Brad Snyder gave the Estrellas Orientales an 8-6 victory over the Leones del Escogido. Snyder and a 3×5 night and led the Estrellas in their 10-hit attack. This result reduces to two the number of victories needed by the Estrellas to win the regular series of the tournament. In a rain-delayed game, the Tigres del Licey massacred the Gigantes del Cibao behind the two homerun and 6 RBI hitting from Juan Francisco, 11-0. This is the second victory in a row for Licey, something they have not seen for some time, as they tied with the Leones del Escogido in the fifth position in the standings at 15-24. There are 12 games left in the regular season and they are three games back of the fourth and final spot for the round-robin portion of the tournament.
