Ibero-American Park opens in Santo Domingo

The mayor of the National District, Roberto Salcedo, has inaugurated the first stage of Ibero-America Park, which is being built on the site of the former National Zoo and the Santo Domingo Book Fair.

The visitors’ area will have a public gymnasium, a cafeteria, children’s area, fitness classes and a medical center to keep on eye on people who are exercising.

It will also have a documentation center with information about the environment.

Central and local government officials, and ambassadors and diplomats from the Ibero-American countries attended the opening, which took place on Sunday, 9 December.

The second phases will include a children’s park where adults can exercise with their children, and the Santa Ana cave will also be reopened, as reported in El Dia.
