The Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the National Council of Free Zones (CNZFE) have announced that eleven new businesses will open in Industrial Free Zones across the country along with four new industrial parks with an estimated investment of RD$729 million.
Minister of Industry and Commerce Jose del Castillo Savinon said that the 11 new companies would employ 802 people and would generate around US$8.7 million in revenue whereas the four new Free Zones would generate 5,879 jobs and US$4.6 million.
Castillo Savinon said that the new companies would be situated around the country, mainly in La Romana, Santo Domingo, Santiago, Bonao, San Cristobal and San Pedro de Macoris.
