Fishermen’s Village reopening boosts economy

The reopening of the Fishermen’s Village in Las Terrenas has helped the economy in the region to get moving once again. The government recently completed the reconstruction of the local tourist attraction, which burned to the ground last May. Most of the new locales were finished in August. Only Yemaya Cafe and Bar Replay did not take part in the inauguration last August, but according to Hoy newspaper they are now open. The general feeling locally is that “the decision to rebuild this village was the most intelligent decision that could have been taken after the fire.”
