Miguel Caret, Director of the Office of Supervising Engineers for State Works has announced that they will prioritize the repair and development of the Luis Eduardo Aybar hospital in Santo Domingo and the Cabral and Baez hospital in Santiago, with a total budget of RD$4.5 billion.
RD$3 billion will be spent on the Luis Eduardo Aybar hospital between 2013 and 2015, while the hospital in Santiago should be finished next year.
President Medina recently visited both hospitals and expressed surprise at their poor condition.
