The always controversial case of Sobeida Felix has now taken a new political turn. It is now reported that as well as talking about the “campaign contributions” given to the PRD political president Miguel Vargas Maldonado in her statements, inmate Sobeida Felix Morel also disclosed the sums of money in dollars that her ex-lover Jose David Figueroa Agosto gave to several military and police officers. Her list, as reproduced in several media, includes the names of former-General Luis Dario de la Cruz Consuegra, Jose Luis Dominguez Castillo, a former Major General, Jose Francisco Fernandez Rodriguez, an Army Colonel and Adolfo Sanchez Perez. According to the version given by Feliz Morel, these men received money in exchange for favors and information that they gave to Figueroa Agosto.
Sobeida Felix is requesting conditional release after serving half of her five-year sentence. She said that this was the agreement she reached with the prosecutors in the plea bargain that resulted in her receiving a reduced sentence for asset laundering and her relationship with the Puerto Rican drug capo.
