Murderer on the run

The authorities have announced the capture of two alleged members of a dangerous gang of drug traffickers and murderers led by Junior Javier Minaya German, better known as “Gilbert el de Guajimia”, who they have been looking for in connection with several murders, drug trafficking, six attempted murders, aggravated assault and possession of weapons.

Police spokesman Maximo Baez Aybar says that although Junior Javier Minaya (Gilbert), who is on the run linked to the recent murder of four men in Herrera, initially said through his lawyer that he would turn himself in, he has now apparently changed his mind and is still at large.

Aybar said that the Police together with the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) have stepped up their efforts to capture Minaya.

In a joint press conference, DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron and his DNCD counterpart Maximo Baez Aybar stated that the latest crime carried out by “Gilbert’s” band was the shooting of four people on the night on January 2 in Herrera where the gang members had a long-standing dispute over drug territories and personal differences.
